Dion lives in Standish, ME, in the Sebago Lake region, with his wife, Dorothy. They have been married for 32 years and have 2 daughters, Danelle, 30 and Darcie, 28. The last “child” left at home now is their 14 year old malamute, Meiko. Dion’s family has lived in Maine for several generations, but he spent most of his youth in Northern California. After meeting his wife in Southern California, drawn by family roots, the beauty of the state and the majesty of the change of seasons, they moved to Maine. Summers there provide a perfect season for Dion and his family to enjoy boating and swimming on Sebago, backyard campfires with family and friends and golfing as the elements allow. When the weather becomes more extreme, the activities move inside and he and Dorothy enjoy cooking and entertaining. After owning his own construction company for 10 years, Dion moved into the corporate and commercial side of the construction business. He transitioned into customer service and then into sales. When his wife Dorothy became more involved in the wholesale gift industry they began working together until he made the move full time into wholesale sales in the gift industry. Dion has an understanding of what it is like to operate a small business that shifts seasonally. He understands the hard work and diligence it takes to be a retailer in Maine and the unique challenges these dealers face serving varying customer bases depending on the time of year.
